OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Reveals the Most Requested Features for ChatGPT in 2024
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently polled users on what features they would like to see in ChatGPT by 2024. The responses included mentions of artificial general intelligence, an upgraded GPT-5 language model, increased personalization, improved GPT capabilities, and more.
In response, Altman tweeted "We will keep reading and work to deliver as many of the requested features as possible, as well as other exciting features not mentioned." However, Altman cautioned that achieving human-level AGI in 2024 is unlikely.
Speaking with Time Magazine, Altman discussed the potential of artificial general intelligence. "I think AGI will be the most powerful technology humanity has created. If you consider how the cost and quality of intelligence are improving, and what people might do with that, it will lead to a very different world—the world science fiction has promised, and we're starting to see what that could look like," Altman said.
OpenAI recently announced GPT-4 Turbo, an updated language model with knowledge through April 2023, at their first developer conference. GPT-4 Turbo was seen as a major improvement over the GPT-4 released in May. OpenAI also announced users can now build and share their own GPT models. However, the launch of OpenAI's GPT store to help developers monetize their creations has been pushed to 2024.
The United States shot down four drones headed toward a U.S. destroyer in the southern Red Sea that were launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, according to U.S. Central Command. "These attacks represent the 14th and 15th attacks on commercial shipping by Houthi militants since Oct. 17," they stated.
The Houthis, who control much of Yemen, have disrupted global trade for weeks by attacking ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait in response to Israel's actions in Gaza, Reuters reported. The U.S. Navy responded to distress calls from two ships under attack, Central Command said.
