Elon Musk's AI Chatbot Grok Roasts Him in One Word

Tech billionaire Elon Musk recently unveiled an artificial intelligence chatbot called Grok, the first product from his company xAI. Grok was trained using real-time data from X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

When a user asked Grok to roast Elon Musk in one word, the AI bot replied "Overrated." Musk responded with "Accurate."

The exchange was shared on Twitter, garnering over 100,000 views and 12,000 likes. Reactions were mixed, with some finding it amusing and others concerned about the bot's irreverence.

Earlier this month, Musk launched xAI's first AI model, Grok, to compete with major programs like ChatGPT, Bard, and Bing. "Grok is an AI modeled after the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything and far harder, even suggest what questions to ask!" xAI said.

The AI chatbot is designed to have a sense of humor and what the company calls a "rebellious streak" in its responses. Musk demonstrated this by showing a conversation in which Grok made jokes about FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and gave a sarcastic response to a question about making cocaine.

Grok is still in early development, having been trained on a 33 billion parameter model. However, xAI expects Grok to improve over time thanks to its early access program.

Artificial intelligence and chatbots are increasingly sophisticated and human-like. Grok shows the potential for AI to be highly conversational, even displaying a sense of humor and irreverence like humans.
